THE BOOZE BROTHERS– RETURN TO A VENUE NEAR YOU..

Hi Everyone

After numerous, high-level discussions and by overwhelmingly popular demand The Booze Brothers are going back on the road.

Still wet and running from the law Mike Jackson and Andy Creevy are Jack and Daniel Booze who will take you on a comedy filled Blues Brothers Journey. For your delight and entertainment they will be performing classic Soul songs by artistes such as The Commitments, Otis Reading, Wilson Picket, James Brown and of course who could forget the brilliant BLUES BROTHERS themselves. This comedy show is a full one and a half hours long and will be packed with comedy and great music to leave your guests thoroughly entertained and asking when the show is on again.

This tribute to The Blues Brothers comes fully self contained with PA and Lights. Having a party of any description? Then please contact Mike through Wibble Promotions or Tel 07740359627 for available dates in 2012.

Mike Jackson. Tribute to the Crooners

Tribute to the Crooners

This fine vocalist has been a professional entertainer for 2o years. He has recorded albums and toured Europe many times. For the last 15 years he has sung to many musical styles including rock, blues and soul, performing at numerous corporate events throughout Britain and abroad.

Mike takes great pride in his ability to form an easy rapport with his audience and also in giving them a polished, professional performance. Excellent lighting and a full P.A system compliment his personality and voice.

Mike’s love for the songs of the Crooners is very apparent in his show, and this love adds to the visual pleasure to give a brilliant all-round performance.

New Blog update. Book me Directly. New on-line booking system for entertainers and venues

Hi  Folks

A recent discovery I have come across is very new and interesting, and possibly a very good alternative option for entertainers of all types. ‘Book  me Directly’ is an online free booking system for entertainers. The performer/DJ/Karaoke/Band/comic/ magician/singer/Duo etc firstly downloads the software from the ‘Book Me Directly’ site which is very simple to use. You then fill in your details and upload a photo. Your details are then stored on the system along with your own personal diary. As long as this is kept up to date the venue wanting to book will always know you are free. The venue then downloads the venue software which gives them access to all the acts available. Venues are also vetted by the system to make sure they are reputable booking venues. The venue can then search at their own leisure for acts they may be interested in booking.  The act then gets a text message from; ‘Book me Directly’ with all the details of the booking being offered.  The details sent include venue, the fee, the times, how far the venue is etc, and then it’s just up to you to accept the booking or decline it. The only person that has a fee to pay is the venue and that I have heard is capped at £10.00, regardless of the acts fee. The performer gets charged NOTHING so has no commission to pay the agent. The reason I do like the system is that venue’s can decide exactly who they want to book instead of getting repeat  performers they do not want or being talked into booking someone they didn’t really want, or being sent someone  that is just  not suitable for the venue. Obviously the system will come across problems with acts that may not have been vetted and may have promoted themselves in the wrong way, and, are not be as good as they say in there publicity.  The system is looking good but could be doing with a testimonial section so venue’s can at least check the act with other venues or through references. I am in no way dismissing agents in this write up as some are very reputable and worth using.  Great agents hold showcases and have vetted the acts they promote to venues. So are confident in the selection of performers they represent. Also if an act is ill or breaks down on the way to a gig then a reputable agent will always have acts on standby to make sure the venue is not let down. Something Book me Directly may have problems with being an online bookings system. I have had many years in the business and always advise acts to use good agents.  But there is always room for other avenues when looking for work in this very competitive market place.  ‘Book Me Direct’ could create great opportunities for acts that may be’ fantastic’ but cannot find the openings they deserve. This all remains to be seen but the online booking system should work great in theory. Good luck with it ‘The Book Me Directly Team. If any act would like to download the software you can visit the site at http://www.bookmedirectly.com/. I believe the venue download should be available soon. Thanks for reading folks.
