Sugar Ray Leonard boot

Sugar Ray Leonard signed boot donated by Colin from Ma Murphy's. To be auctioned on the night

Money raised from the raffle during the XWA Wrestling meeting at the Carlton Inn on Saturday the 2nd Oct 2010 will be donated to The Macmillan Cancer Support day on Sunday 3rd Oct 2010. Thank you to Greg Lambert for arranging this kind donation. Mike and Colin (Ma Murphy’s) will be attending the wrestling event to promote our fundraising day. Why not get yourselves down to the wrestling too – Sat 2nd Oct XWA Wrestling at the Carlton Inn. Doors open 7pm. Wrestling for all the family. As an added bonus there will be a Pro-wrestler at Ma Murphy’s on Sunday 3rd Oct so come & get your picture taken with him.

Want to bring your kids? No worries we have that covered too. Many thanks to R. Leisure Ltd who will be supplying a Bouncy Castle for the afternoon.

If you’re a fan of Sugar Ray Leonard you will not want to miss the auctioning of a signed boot which has been kindly donated by Colin (Ma Murphy’s).

Mark Slinger has also offered to create another picture to raise funds at the auction. His image of Bono raised a lot of money a few years ago and we hope to do even better this year.

Tigger has sent a book & voucher for a no-hands massage which sounds totally great, Mark from Graphic Designs has offered to print out leaflets and posters for the event then just this morning we received a voucher for up to 4 people to have Afternoon Tea at the Midland Hotel. All donations or offers of sponsorship are very gratefully received, thank you.

We have some money donations come in over the Bank Holiday Weekend, Jo & Ezz from The Commodore at Grange Over Sands gave £80, Ron & Terry (ex-landlords of the Commodore) donated £50 and Karen & Graham Forre3st from Grange donated £30. Thank you all for your donations, we are very grateful.

Lots more donations have been coming in including one from our local music store ‘Promenade Music’  who has kindly donated a ‘Guitar starter pack. Includes everything you need to start learning this fantastic instrument. Thank you very much on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support.
